Methodology
Recommended For This Market
Every metro and ZIP page ends with a recommended next step. That recommendation is generated from that market's own data using published rules — not paid placement, and not an AI guess.
1. Market condition band
We classify the market using the Buyer Demand Index (pending listings ÷ active listings, expressed as a percent):
- Seller's Market — Buyer Demand Index above 60%
- Balanced Market — 40% to 60%
- Buyer's Market — below 40%
- Insufficient Data — no recent qualifying listing activity for the market
2. Headline selection
The headline leads with the largest decision-relevant movement in the market, in this priority: a year-over-year change in median days on market of three days or more, then a year-over-year inventory change of 10% or more, then the current Buyer Demand Index. Copy is template-based so the same data always produces the same sentence.
3. Primary action
In scored markets the primary action is the Sold Score, framed for the condition band — strategy in a buyer's market, pricing and speed in a seller's market. Where a market cannot be scored, we recommend the monthly briefing instead and tell you when conditions change.
4. Local expert slot
A local expert is shown only when a verified Primpted expert publishes coverage of that market. If no verified expert covers the market, the slot degrades to an agent acquisition prompt rather than showing an unrelated agent. Expert placement never changes the market data, the condition band, or the Sold Score.
5. How a homeowner request is routed
When a homeowner asks to speak with someone, the request is offered to one expert at a time — never sold to several at once. The order is published and fixed:
- Requested expert — the homeowner arrived through that expert's own link or asked for them by name.
- Paid coverage — an expert on a paid plan whose published profile serves that ZIP code.
- Free coverage — the best-ranked approved expert serving that ZIP, so the homeowner is contacted even where no one has paid.
- No match — the request is held for Primpted staff to place manually.
Within a tier, order is decided by profile completeness and standing, then public review rating and review count. The receiving expert has 24 hours to accept or decline; a decline or an expiry passes the request to the next expert in the same order. Paid placement buys position in step 2 only — it never changes the market data, the condition band, the Sold Score, or the earned ranking inside a tier, and paid position is disclosed wherever it appears.
Measurement
We log anonymous impressions and clicks for this module so placement decisions are grounded in observed behavior. No personal information is stored with those events. Every routed request is recorded with its market, score, routing step, and outcome so placement can be audited.
